Subdivision Background Galena Shores
is only the second master planned community that we are
aware of in Arrow Lakes. Most developments have been small
(e.g. less than 40 acres) and have been initiated to
only develop waterfront property. These
developments have not been concerned about the balance
of the property, since in most cases the property was
too small for this to be an issue.

Galena Shores is 141 acres and
represents an opportunity to not only develop waterfront
and view lots but to also provide significant natural
parks to the community. In addition there is the
desire by ALDL and the community to return a large part
of the land back to its natural forested state.
As a result ALDL in consultation with
community members has decided to depart from large
acreage parcels to smaller acreages in order to accomplish
the following objectives.
-
Creation of a natural forest
preserve
-
Waterfront park
-
Large natural areas for the
community to enjoy
-
Strata well water system that is
managed and subject to regulatory review, approval,
and ongoing monitoring
